2025 SPRING INTO WELL-BEING CELEBRATION
2025 Champions of Mental Health Mark Skjervem and Janie Guthrie Skjervem
This year's 21st Annual "Spring into Well-Being" celebration will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel. We will hold an amazing celebration, auctions and more. Join us as we honor the 2025 Champions of Mental Health Mark Skjervem and Janie Guthrie Skjervem and our 2025 Community Builder Sylvia Wilson. This year's goal is to raise over $350,000.
The "Spring into Well-Being" Celebration is the most important way for us to raise the funds necessary to continue our mission of providing low-cost mental health services and training new mental health professionals.
Janie has served as the President of the Westchester Mental Health Guild – the clinic's fundraising arm – since 2021. She is currently a member of the AMCS Board of Directors and served as the Spring into Well-Being Committee Chair in both 2022 and 2023.
Mark is a partner at the Paslay Group – a long time supporter of AMCS – and has served as the company's program director at airport programs at LAX as well as in Doha, Qatar; Abu Dhabi, UAE; and DFW in Dallas.
Sylvia is a member of the AMCS Board of Directors, sits on the Westchester Family YMCA Board and served as an elected member of the Neighborhood Council of Westchester/Playa from 2019 to 2023. She has been a steadfast supporter of community mental health and of AMCS in particular and is a proud member of the Rotary Club of Westchester.
2025 Community Builder Sylvia Wilson
“We are so excited to be honoring Mark and Janie for their long-time commitment to our clinic and its mission; and equally proud to recognize Sylvia as our 2025 Community Builder,” said AMCS CEO Eden Garcia-Balis, who added that the goal is to raise more than $350,000 to help continue providing much-needed affordable, community-based mental health services and to support the training of the clinic’s more than 60 mental health therapists each year. “We look forward to having a celebration of the many ways in which AMCS has continued to deliver critical mental health services to our community.
